Very slow. I liked the whole idea of the island El ended up on and the setting and timing around it. The concept is very special, but it’s also super preachy, and you can see how some things will unfold basically from chapter one, book one. It’s taken me about a year to read the duology. Book one is by far better, since we still have the mystery of where everyone is and what they were fleeing from. Missed chance
