Guppy going full Columbo on Lady Dedlock is a fucking delight. Creepy, simp that he is that needs to learn the meaning of the word no, he does still have a very astute mind. I wonder if he will Esther's Champion or her Villain?

Thinking of Pausing for next year, unfortunately we have had a very warm February and it’s basically summer in the afternoons here in the south, & this book feels meant to be read in winter to me 😭

These wild side characters are the kind of silly side characters I love how he writes as this is reminding me of great expectations in that way - I will reread that book in few years
