i LOVE how many facets of rat's personality keep revealing themselves. as soon as i'm sure he's a softie at heart, he's teasing dogkeeper and threatening to rip out her throat. i wonder if part of the reason why he got particularly rough/cruel in this scene was bc it came right after he thought to himself that he didn't want to lose shion.... he's proving to himself that he hasn't gone soft

i LOVE how everything about this duo so far has led me to believe that shion will be the one that is feminized/androgynous (cause there's always one in bl let's be honest) but NO here we have rat in a wig, singing on stage looking absolutely BEAUTIFUL. every time i think this duo will be trope-y, they find a way to subvert expectations. they both have so much depth and balance already and it's only volume 3!!!!!!

the way they're so gentle with each other but never hesitate to be totally honest at the same time even if it's hard to hear???? rat not fully trusting shion's confession because 1) everything about west block and rat is still just shiny and new and 2) he pledged to no. 6 for YEARS, so how could he pledge to rat and really truly mean it?? we are SO getting a confession take 2 at some point and i cannot WAIT

through careful research i've discovered that this was originally published in a shojo magazine????? is this shojo???? if it is, then it's definitely taking a page out of the "the summer hikaru died" book of genre bending cause HUH
