Can you tell I’ve been reading a lot for my English class

Finshed with the main event ("The Life of an Amorous Woman") and later today I will watch the film ("The Life of Oharu") based loosely on this book. Totally highlights the Buddhist tenet that desire always brings suffering.

actually, I was only going to read the stories that encompass "The Life of An Amorous Woman" because it is very loosely the basis for the movie The Life of Oharu (next on my Criterion watchlist), but I decided to read the entire volume. The first set of stories, together called "Five Women Who Chose Love," were downright ick/cringe-y in spots, but I couldn't put this book down.
