Run to Jesus, not from him. Distance is a relationship killer. God’s love always burns bright but it is up to us whether we draw near or stay away. We have approval from God as a gift through Jesus- so all we have to do is draw near.

Kids don’t care whether they’ve recently been bad- they run to their parents for their needs to be fulfilled. We must treat God in this way. Just like the prodigal son who spent his father’s money and sinned- but the father welcomed him back with love. Don’t sacrifice your future to pay for your past. Jesus PAID IN FULL. “Come to me”

We are always changing as Christian’s - a part of sanctification and the promptings of the Holy Spirit

We do need to change but we must rely on GOD for all change that he desires for us

God wants us to hear the word and DO the word. But our motives matter. If we are doing to get something then …no. If we are doing because we have received…then yes

Grace= receiving. Getting what we don’t deserve. Come as you are. Don’t wait to be better to have a relationship with God. Receive grace now and let grace transform you

Sometimes we want to do right and we try so hard, and end up doing wrong instead. We have the urge to do right, but have no power to carry it out. That’s when Jesus hugs us and forgives us.

There is not anything you can do or not do it would make God love you anymore or any less.

Don’t look back on your sin too much that you don’t live in the present. God wants to work through you now. You may dwell on sin in a healthy way, but God forgives it all the same.

We have to change our minds before we make a change in life. We can’t say I’m insecure, or I have no confidence. Even if we feel it, we cannot say it. You can’t fail at something unless you don’t try. Don’t live a life of sameness because you’re afraid to try something new. You don’t have to feel confident to be confident.

Reaching potential takes work and time- we are not overnight successes. We have to step out of our comfort zone and take risks to invest in our future. Or else live in regret

You can admire others and ask God to help you you be like the traits you see in them- but even then, it will flow out of you differently than it does them. Be you.

If you haven’t received God‘s unconditional love, you can’t give it to others. If you haven’t received God‘s forgiveness, you can’t give it to others. We have to stop thinking about something that upset us, and made us mad. We have to start believing our future is filled with good things, and refuse to give up until you are enjoying all of them.

God does not punish past sins by giving you hardships now. We live in a fallen world. You will miss out on joy if you do not forgive quickly and fully and live in anger. Anger only hurts you, not the other person.

Don you mainly experience joy or anger and sadness? You are allowed to feel the joy that Christ offers and believe you have the Holy Spirit inside you

Legalism: righteous to try and follow all the rules or rely on Jesus’s sacrifice to cover us. Legalism takes the joy and fun out of us. We must be disciplined but not to the extent of legalism. Also- have your own faith, not just secondhand faith through others (books, podcasts, sermons, etc).

While you were having a guilt and shame attack, you must remember who you are in Christ. Say out loud, God loves me unconditionally, and he has forgiven all my sins. In Christ, we stand forgiven, made new, justified, sanctified, cleansed, and we stand before God with him. God is not angry, disappointed, or displeased with you. He loves you.

We have to learn to ask for forgiveness and receive forgiveness. If we can’t receive, then we punish ourselves with guilt and sacrifice peace/joy. But our sacrifices aren’t acceptable to God - only Jesus is. He is the only sacrifice that is enough. Stop trying to pay a debt you can’t pay.

When you repent and ask for forgiveness, that guilt goes away with it. Andy guilt you feel after is unhealthy and false guilt.
