Melisa is a round character and her father is a flat one. Melisa is a round character because she experiences many conflicts. The loss of her mother, dragons, and the corruption of her own organization help make her a round character. She also has a backstory talked about in the book. Her father on the other hand is a flat character, he is supportive of her work but is very generic. He also has no back story.

Colonel Hanks is an unsympathetic character. He doesn't care about people's safety only his promotion. He also tries to manipulate people to think his actions are justified. One example is how he give away trips to Fiji as a bargain to do his bidding and praise him. He also spies on innocent people which is never good. This is why Colonel Hanks is an unsympathetic character.

This book, in my opinion, is character driven because it follows Melissa Callahan and her growth. The story is all about how she changes, from grieving over her mother and scared to even go outside to accepting her mother's death and becoming a dragon hunter. She also grows as a more compassionate and open-minded person. This is why Talker 25 is mostly a character driven story in my opinion.

I wonder why Callahan decided to go dragon hunting with Trish and some other kids when Trish asked him. Maybe it's because he is in love with Trish or because he sensed a calling from the void the night before. He did say he should have trusted his instincts right before the attack so I believe that his feelings about Trish is the reason he went dragon hunting.

I predict that the book will have dragons as a main part of the story.I think this because the cover what looks to be a dragon around the 25. After reading the first sentence I know I am correct since the book says "When Trish called and begged me to go dragon hunting" (1 McCune). That means that dragons are apart of this book and help move the plot forwards.

This book doesn't end at all!
