Status Updates From La edad de la inocencia

i have never had the pleasure of reading Wharton before so perhaps this is common in her novels but i’m very fond of her ornamented style of narration, the over-the-top descriptions, the overwhelming sense of luxury. i think it is very fitting for this story as it takes place in New York and describes New York society; opulent and lavish BUT superficial and meaningless useful only in the context of showing off.
