All the info on sequelae was crazy bro. I already knew about some viruses causing cancer but other ones causing heart failure and diabetes was insane I had no idea about that :o

Woah, this whole section on acclimatization and how travellers are more likely to get mild GI issues due to different microbes in their new environments is actually something I don't think I've ever heard of before!

Surprisingly, this is proving to be a royal slog. The writing style is shockingly sloppy, and the 'germ code' is so far proving to be more of a nonsensical catch phrase. Very disappointing, and probably more readable and enjoyable for people who have no knowledge of (micro)biology.
Definitely uses alarmist hyperbole. I think the more you know, the more grating this book is.
