Status Updates From A Man of Affairs

This story doesn't seem too JDMish. A lot of witty, cocktail-party jousting and everyone on the island is porking everyone else with some kind of high-finance swindling behind it all. I've only seen this sort of witty banter on TV and I don't think it's ever been done for real, so it's not passing my Believability Test. I assume a there's gonna be murder -- it is part of The Murder Room series.

By the way, I think there are about 20 significant characters in the story already. That's a lot. But I've learned to like that.

So far this is like an episode of "Fantasy Island", with some "The Love Boat" action thrown in. If I ever get the idea JDM was the cause of 70s TV, I'm gonna get even. Somehow. Somehow I'm gonna get even.

First chapter is a bit pedestrian, mostly back story and character bio, which MacDonald excelled at, no action, but he does bait the hook.
