The opening pages were very flowery in terms of prose but I either got used to it or it got toned down.. overall, I'm feeling a solid 4, maybe 4.5? Enjoyed it and glad I got my hands on it finally

Finished this a couple of days ago, jumped at the chance to read it through hoopla bc I couldn't find it anywhere else until now! And it didn't disappoint. The romance was kinda tepid but that's fine w me bc the plot delivered -- the life of a poison taster is certainly not dull. And the setting (to me this fits a dystopia aka I'm too lazy to create a new shelf)...
