Status Updates From Marcos' Lovey Dovie

The propaganda begins. The transcripts from the newspapers are a bit long but I understand why the author had to include them. At the present chapter, Marcos goes to great lengths in covering up the scandal by smearing Dovie's reputation with numerous article releases questioning her credibility and state of mind. Talk about defensive.

M: "I told you my intentions. They're honorable."

Now reading sex tapes transcripts. I have never read erotic literature before...until now. Marcos and Dovie are both sex-crazed. I am not surprised why Martial Law was enforced.

An assassination attempt in Hong Kong. This book is crazy awesome. Every Filipino should read it.

And Imelda steps in. This book is fantastic. Sex, lies, photographs and tape (audio tapes).

"Til then beloved, receive my adoration...unending and complete." Santisima! Marcos was a friggin' poet. (From his love letter to Dovie).

Marcos wooed his woman with words, sex, jewelry, travel, and money—in that order.

"It was daylight, so when they started making love she saw him for the first time and could not believe it at first—he was small, incredibly small." This sort of writing would have gotten the author killed. Non-fiction at its finest...and most brutal.

Dovie: Because see, it all depends on...your intentions and what your plans are for me.
Marcos: I told you my intentions. They're honorable.

I've been skipping chapters because I wanted to get to the controversial parts right away! Haha. I finally started on page 1 this afternoon. This book would be a bestseller if it came out today. Man, I encourage everyone to read this. The scandal is a tragic representation of what was happening to the country at that time. And Hermie Rotea is a fantastic writer.

On the chapter titled: Dovie's Nude Pictures. This section talks about the smear campaign Marcos did to discredit his mistress. I will post images once I'm done reading the book. Yes—there are images! Published in the 70s.
