Her character is quite literally that she is a Lesbian.

Her body— Her big, beautiful body, slung across the back of a horse as if she were nothing more than baggage - Loose hair, limp arms, eyelids sunken like she didn't have eyes anymore, like there was nothing inside her anymore, not her heart or her tongue, not her soul or her memory or the last breath in her lungs - You couldn't look at her. Couldn't stand to see her like that. Empty and broken.

I’m pretty happy with this story. It’s a spin off the Magnificent 7 which is itself a spin off the 7 Samurai. In this retelling the 7 warriors who fight together to defend a village from marauders are 7 young sapphic women. Each and every one of them is fascinating but with very little in common except their sapphic womanhood and their ability to fight. The writing is tongue in cheek and sharp. Absolutely a kill

Now you wear your sword across your back, for you no longer need it at your side. A less sentimental person would've sold it already, but you were always a sap, weren't you? Splitting your rations with the replacements, filching a few apples or an extra blanket for the orphans who dogged our convoys, begging for scraps.
We gave you a hard time about it, but let's be honest, we all had a soft spot for orphans ♥️
