Apparently MLJ chatted with C.S. Lewis on a boat trip to Ireland in 1953. Kind of fascinating to think about these two "giants" interacting.
Lloyd-Jones asked him, "When are you going to write another book?"
Lewis replied, "When I understand the meaning of prayer."

On his calling to ministry: A woman on staff at his hospital suddenly and tragically died. A friend of hers, also on staff went and sat with MLJ.
"For some two hours, without a word, the distraught man stared vacantly into the grate until every aspect of the scene was indelibly fixed upon LJ's memory...'I saw the vanity of all human greatness. Here was a tragedy, a man without any hope at all."' Wow.
