So far I've realised a few things: there's the narrator (whose name idk or have forgotten) whose childhood was mostly at a place called Combray. And then we make the switch to M Swann who is now in love with a woman called Odette. I believe Swann's life is a foreshadowing of the narrator's life but I'm not sure.
