Status Updates From Crossline

Once I got past the initial writing style, the story has evolved in a surprisingly fresh direction. There are multiple story arcs and readers are forced to re-assess initial reactions of characters introduced in the first chapters; one has to stop and think about how everyone has their own backstory and reasons for doing things. Much like these characters, this book draws you deeper the farther in you delve.

Though the premise is certainly interesting, the introduction and first chapters are written much like a cliched movie would be. There are far too many fragmented sentences that - rather than add to the drama and emphasize the action - take away from the reading experience by coming across as choppy attempts at modern Hollywood.
