FINAL REVIEW-Both Presidents worked in the middle. One believed ideology didn't belong to which both sides cling to. One side talks naive and the other doesn't come up with any new ideas. The other believed in compromise, refused confrontations. Author says both presidents wouldn't make it into today's politics. I say maybe so but America needs these type of leaders. Working down the middle, with new ideas, compromising

"It is unfortunate that unity for war against a common aggressor is far easier than unity for peace."-John F. Kennedy.

Both Reagan and Kennedy chose peace. Whatever else they accomplished the author writes had no greater legacy. Reagan and Kennedy were peacemakers. They had hope in it. Deep down so do I.

A biographer once said that the only qualifications for the most powerful office in the world was wanting it. Both JFK and Reagan wanted it.
"Look at John F. Kennedy,"A Reagan supporter said. "He didn't have much of a record as a senator. But he made a great appearance."
"The most powerful single force in the world today,"JFK said."... is man's eternal desire to be free and independent."

COMMUNICATION SKILLS of Kennedy and Reagan were incredible maybe not as good as Jefferson or Teddy Roosevelt but they understood the power of words and took care in choosing the right words. Their ability to command and inspire an audience was awesome.
They saw themselves as men of ideas. I too saw the power of words and words if used right can inspire and motivate. Kennedy and Reagan were good at it.

What I liked and it was noted JFK considered himself a New Deal liberal. Which I like to consider myself because I prefer to be more center and I think both have good ideas when they want to. Both can be strong and idealists. And Kennedy occasionally called himself a Conservative Liberal which meant he was chartering an INDEPENDENT PATH. Exactly.
RONALD REAGAN was perhaps more conservative but not with Nancy's help.

Both Kennedy and Reagan were targets of assassination, one died the other survived. When Reagan survived he was a national hero. Even Tip O'Neill prayed for him. Kennedy's death affected and wounded this nation forever..
Both presidents had been labeled the most Irish of presidents-each gifted with different forms of what is often described as Irish wit. My thoughts-They both certainly had it.
