Status Updates From Paris! (Recipe for Adventur...

In the last pages of my novel, both teams in the baking competition won. Now that the camp is all over Emilia and Alfie have to find a way back home. Emilia remembers a Madeline cookie on of her friends gave her and it transports them back home. The title Recipe For Adventure is important. The word Recipe resembles the cooking in the book, the word Adventure resembles all the different places Alfie and Emilia go.

In the book that I am reading two siblings Alfie and Emilia and transported to Paris after having hot coco that their aunt gave them. There is the Eiffle Tower and cafes all around. The time is present. The setting does affect the plot because when they got to Paris they would not have known where they were if they didn't see the Effiel Tower. The setting is not essential they can go anywhere if they could.

In this book we learn about Alfie, a 10 year old boy who is on an after school soccer team and doesn't want to play as a team. Emilia is Alfie's sister. Zia is a motherly figure who makes foods from different places, when the kids eat it they travel there. Alfie is sad because he may have to sit out of the soccer game on Saturday so he can learn to be a "team player". Zia makes them hot chocolate.
