Status Updates From Left Field Love

This was originally titled “The Long Way Home” and idk why she would ever change that title to this corny ahh one

“Finding someone you share an intense emotional connection and a consuming physical attraction with isn’t a common occurrence.
I know what Lennon and I share is rare. I knew it in high school and college, and I’m even more certain of it now.

The reason Caleb's mom didn't like Lennon was because is had had an affair with her mom, but overall she isn't so bad anymore

CALEB BOUGHT THE FARM FROM LENNON! HE WAS THE BUYER AND HE KEPT IT IN HER NAME SO THEY CAN GET MARRIED AND RAISE CHILDREN THERE

“I still get this giddiness around her that’s hard to explain. It feels like an addiction. No matter how much I’m around her, I always want more time.
That feeling is called love, I guess.
It’s hard to define something so intangible, that emerges in so many forms. That changes and grows. That doesn’t duplicate and is always different.”

Lennon gets a package that was ordered by her grandpa of a sweater from the university, she decided to sell the far and transfer to the university, and is loving it

They come back from the trip and her grandpa's dead, she starts shutting people out, and Winters has to go back to school

She visits Winters out of nowhere and he is thrilled the whole "were did you get that winter's hoodie, they don't sell that at the book store happens" and then Winter suprise Leannon at the farm and gives her a check of money, that she has no choice but to accept

“Let me say this. I was wrong, back in high school. I didn’t believe you. I didn’t believe in us. And I’m so grateful I’m so grateful that you did. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Caleb Winters. I want you to know, whatever happens this year or next year, I’m in this. I’m all the way in. You could get drafted to a team that plays on Mars, and I’d wait twenty years for you to get back from space.”

Three years later theyre still doing long distance its the summer before senior year and they spend 3 days at Luke's lakehouse

“I don’t want you to go anywhere,”
“I’ll always come back, Lennon.”
“Do you promise?”
“I promise. You’re the one thing I’m sure about. You’re my home. All the other stuff, it doesn’t matter. We’ll figure it all out.”

“Don’t get lost,”
“I’m coming back, Lennon. This isn’t goodbye.”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Caleb.”
“I’m not.” Fierceness fills his expression. “I mean it.”
I nod once, but I don’t let myself believe it. “Goodbye, Winters.”
He knows I don’t believe him. It’s obvious in the long, frustrated breath he blows out before he nods back. “See you, Matthews.”

“Then I kiss him. Really kiss him. And I pour everything I am into it. My hopes. My fears. My dreams.
Somehow, when I wasn’t paying attention, while I didn’t know to stop it, Caleb Winters became all those things to me. Someone I hoped to see. Became afraid to lose. Dreamed about. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You ran out of time on a two-hour exam? You chose not to write that paper. You’ll be lucky to end up with a B. I have no idea why you—”
“You want to be valedictorian, right?”
