Status Updates From Escape from Paradise (Parad...

So, do you remember when you first watched the Wizard of Oz and the film went from black & white to color? Well I think I just woke up in Oz!!

This story has been graphic, callous, with parts that were just out right disgusting. It also has been captivating, fascinating, and has had a few emotional scenes. But I haven't particularly cared for the writing style, it feels too simplistic for this type of story. I feel like it's lacking in detail and I am not happy with the timeline jumps with no detail about what has happened to Angela so far. We'll see...

They’re free!!!!!

Just got through Angela’s punishment scene and…whew!! Steam is definitely flying. I remembered it from the first time I’d read this book, yet it’s just as good and…steamy as the first time I read it :)

AHHHH!! Finally Collin is there with Angela, and I’m so excited to see their relationship play out again. I don’t fully remember all of the details from the first time I read it, but I do know it was steamy (and I do remember how the book ends - meaning how Collin gets Angela away from Marcus…and the consequences). Stay tuned!!! :)

This author is doing a fantastic job of creating a novel that illustrates an incredible evil, yet incorporating elements to arouse and entice in the dark romance genre. It’s really a mind-f*ck. I really enjoy the darker romance tropes, yet at this point, this book is making me both feel terrible about the situation yet also really aroused. I know Collin is on his way, and I’m anticipating the redemption (light).

What would I do in Angela’s position? Honestly, I have no idea. In my head, I’m saying death would be much better than submitting to being raped and a sex slave for the foreseeable future. Yet how the hell would I actually know? Angela’s situation is terrifying, and I think she truly is doing everything in her ability to stay alive and not completely lose herself, even if it means “willingly” being a slave.

Intense first chapter, one where you constantly are telling the main female protagonist “you idiot!! Don’t do that” or “that’s stupid!! Why would you do something so reckless in MEXICO!!”.

I think I remember this book, and it’s going to be a struggle to get through. I mean, the female protagonist just got roofied and raped - in the first chapter. This is going to be a long re-read.
