Shock-value, that's it. I won't be reading more of the series if this part of the storyline continue. No, I'm not a chicken. I'm logical. Who would pay a million bucks for a broken toy who learned poor habits from their captors?

This series is amazingly well-written and so horrifying and dark and abusive that I really really need to recover before consider reading the next book. I think I will wait for the series to come to an end. I need to know there is an happy ending to this before reading any more!
