Scott was right. He could never have competed with Jules. And once Jules returned to her earnest vulnerable self, Elise was always going to be putty. These two are so mad. I love them 😭😭😭

She’s no earnest and dogged. God. It must be a rush to be the object of such a person’s affection.

The problem with Elise and Jules is that Jules is a chaser. And they’ll never be rid of each other so long as Jules is chasing. Madness.

So clearly two of them took different tracks I. The end of their relationship. Elise leaned into her new identity and started trying to pick back her life. Juliana attempted to return to her old personality but she feels trapped. She’s acting like a trapped wounded animal. But it’s months too late for this shit!

Juliana took the job thinking it was Elise using it as a ploy to rekindle their friendship. She’s clearly delayed her grief of their relationship having been stuck in the anger cycle for too long. And given that they’re clearly alienated, she’s not as perceptive about Elise as she usually would have been. I’m sad for her. But damn, Elise grieved too. Sigh. I love them both. Arrest them!

So this is 100% a 5 star read.

Having been so caught up in their relationship, I strongly feel the grief of it ending. Sigh. Two mad women.

So, I’m, Juliana is a bit of a wild card. Maybe a bit mad?

I am stressed. The recklessness is too wild!

The possessiveness they express over each other is quite scary.

We’re rushing headlong into the phase of affair where sex is used as a cover for all of the impending doom.

Imagine all the oxytocin and dopamine highs these two have been riding on. It’s an addiction at this point. Headed off a cliff.

Jesus Christ. I guess you gotta be the villain in someone’s story. That was a difficult divorce conversation but it was the only possible way it was going to go. Fuck.

And goddamn if this don’t feel like a real affair. The urgency. The precariousness. The quiet fatalism. I’m hooked.

Jules is so fucking scary because she’s so fucking perceptive. Her mother was right. This situation is the worst type of situation for someone with her temperament. Oh God.

She should have come back home from San Francisco and come out to her family. This affair phase only adds increased pressure on what is already a pressure cooker of a relationship.

Oh my God. They are both so mad. It must be intoxicating to be this gone. The foolishness must be heady. Crack!
