Definitely interesting so far

…I do not want to finish this book. I am not enjoying it. The narrator feels almost too self aware? The writing is just not good.

Hmmmm…I can’t say I love the prose, to be honest. The language felt a bit cliche. The idea of a conservative, religious and racist small town is not new and not particularly unique.

The main character is interestingly flawed and motivated; I don’t think I would have finished if Lesley was less well written. I wish there had been more a sense of horror sooner (outside typical racism/sexism)
