I’d completely forgotten about the victor and Natalie plot twist so that was a nice twist. I like how things turned out with Lissa in the end and that most of the things that were causing her pain have been resolved. And she’s dating Christian, now that’s a good ship.
All I remember about book two is that they’re at a ski resort but I really want to read on in this series

Ok I Actually likes this a lot more than I thought I would. It was fun and the perfect mix of YA silly and drama. Enough that it’s problematic aspects (like the age gap) don’t ruin it for me. Especially since everyone seems to acknowledge it’s problematicness, for now at least, obviously they will end up together in the end. Overlooking the age gap I like the ship, but Dimitri is still a pretty flat character

It feels written to communicate Elena is rebellious / dramatic / difficult. Calling her kindergarten teacher a “fascist bastard” and throwing the book is simply unconvincing because you can see the author choosing an exaggerated action to produce a character impression. The behavior arrives with its intended interpretation already attached.
