Status Updates From After Rome: A Novel of Celt...

DNF, maybe I’ll revisit it. A dull start. For me, it doesn’t ring true of Celtic spirit or the culture. Read “Anam Cara” by John O’Donohue. This very fictional story reads like a dystopian survival journey. IMO, not a lot of heart and her “version of Celtic Spirituality” seems more like mystic smoke and mirrors. I did like “The Lion of Ireland” better as did other reviewers.

Pretty intrigued so far. I have read the prologue and a chapter for each of the two main characters but what I find most interesting is the setting.

Most people reading this probably have pretty good knowledge of Rome and its collapse, I even took two whole semesters of a Roman history class, but I found that I had never given much thought to what happened in those places after the empire contracted.
