Status Updates From Spanking Dee-Dee

I can’t finish this book. It was recommended to me and I usually love any book someone recommends. This just isn’t working for me. It’s too much inner monologue and Dee-Dee just isn’t someone I want to know. I’m going to quit even though I paid for this book. Oh well

..why fall in love at all? It didn't make sense. Love complicated perfectly simple arrangements. Men, especially gay men, were not designed for monogamy.

Oh Simon, why do I have the feeling life is about to teach you a thing or two?

This book is unreadable. Nearly every sentence begins with a present participle phrase (-ing word), doesn't have commas, and is grammatically incorrect because the actions aren't happening simultaneously even though that's what's implied by the sentence structure. This is beyond annoying.

This is kind of strangely engrossing - I can't pinpoint why, it's just making me want to read it from the sample. So far I feel quite sad for both our leading men - some people have said Simon seemed cold initially but I'm not seeing that, more that he is deluding himself. And poor Dee, he seems kind of lost and needing someone to look after him.

This one of the best books i've read in ages! I've been bawling for the last 20% or so. If only it didn't have such a stupid title more people might read it. I have to read more from this author!

Interesting. Wasn't sure how I felt about the narrator at the beginning. But now I am totally rooting for him and Dee Dee. Simon's self awareness was very slow in coming. We will see how this pans out. No spanking as of yet!
