Total depravity is a doctrine to live by.
The only way to see the greatness of the gospel is to see how bad is our plight.

At the heart of sinful mankind’s total depravity is his moral and spiritual inability to accept the gospel. Being rooted in spiritual ignorance, man’s total depravity manifests itself in idolatry.
