Status Updates From Redemption (Soul, #1)

I was hooked after the sample but shortly after buying the book and reading further, I started to lose interest. Can't put my finger on exactly one thing but the way some of the characters act, the crystals/map thing, none of that is doing anything for me. Made it this far by grim determination but I think it's time to mark as a DNF.
