Status Updates From Rapunzel (Demon Tales, #4)

I am still a little lost

Thinking this book would make more sense if i read the rest of the series. Because i just realized this is book 4

"Do you regret our kiss in the woods?" Chloe asked, her voice a shaky whisper.
"No," Blane answered truthfully.
"Would you regret it if we kissed again?"
Blane's head swam and his chest ratcheted tighter. He ached to taste her again. Was she offering?
"I fear that you might regret it if we did," he answered honestly. Because everyone I ever love has died or gone missing.
"I could never regret kissing you Blane."

Blane growled & stood up. He paced to the other side of the cell & turned to look at her once again. His inner beast hated the separation, butting against his skin like never before. A part of him felt savage, animalistic. Blane had never felt so out of control.
"Is she mine?" he asked out loud, disbelieving, shocked. [...] He couldn't believe it. Mated?
Now? He scoffed, not believing his luck. "F*ck!"

Promises were just words - cruel, painful utterings to make the speaker feel better.
"Everyone breaks promises," Chloe said with more venom in her tone [...].
[...]
Chloe tore her eyes away from the demon, turned onto her side, pulled her knees up to her chest & closed her eyes.
[...]
"I don't break mine...not anymore."
[...]Chloe flinched as the powerful, obstinate words hit her squarely in the heart.

Blah. Just blah. Feel relieved now that it's finished

um so this is kinda boring. Blane is an ass and even though Chloe is a bit weak in strength and mind, shes determined. I feel like she should be a bit more naive though, if this story was realistic. I mean she's been locked in a tower for 15 years with no real contact or interaction except to see the King
