This later part of the book is a bit confusing. It is trying to cover so many subject that would require an in-depth examination (Expressionist cinema, psychoanalysis, the Bouhaus and architecture, advancement in physics). I dont' think trying to cover everythign at once is doing a great service to the time period.

This central part is dedicated to literature and theatre. In a way, I have a feeling there's more to it then it trunspires here

I've finished reading the political situation of Weimar. Very very complex, but also so intersting.
I'm now into the first periode of the avantguard. I feel like th author is only scratching the surface... not that he may do anythign different.

There's a lot of attention to the political side of the Weimar Republisc history, at least in this first part of the book, but it's still quite accessible and interesting
