Hmm, immreally not liking this one. They're taking too much advantage of her naive nature. I don't like it.

Sorry, I think I'm done. I can't stand this heroine and while the first book was bad, this one is bad AND boring. This should have been a one-book saga, rather than making it two books to make extra money.

She was a strong woman now, and she didn't want again (sic) to go back to being the weak naive fool she had been when she was married to Domenico.

Snort. Really kid? You played with a sword for a few months and you think that makes you strong? I'm sorry, aren't you the one that falls on your back with your knees open every time the guy so much as looks at you? "Strong" my ass.

Oh my God I'm SO BORED! The first book was bad, but this book is bad AND boring.

Wait... wasn't it established that if Domenico and Misty had a "cutting of the ties" that they were banned from seeing each other? So how is he still all "I'm gonna pursue you."

Ugh, this book is hurting my head...

I love how after 16 months of training I'm supposed to believe that Misty has turned into some sort of tactical bad-ass. Please. I spent sixteen months learning Tae Kwon Do and have a green belt to show for it. Trust me when I say this is not enough time to become proficient at anything, let alone sword-play.

Every time I come across a heroine like this, who has very little to recommend her in the looks/personality/brains department, but yet who still has multiple high-powered, highly sexual males in lust/love with her, I always get Heath Ledger's voice in my head going, "What is it with this chick? She have beer-flavored nipples?"

Let me summarize what I just read:

"Hi, I'm a manwhore who loves no one, and screws everyone without emotion and I totally want to do you emotionlessly but first I'm going to get an idea about what you know about my culture. Go."

"I'm going to ask questions about your security that a five year old could think of."

Pause. "Whoooooaaaa... that is so insightful. I'm gonna fall in love with you now."

Wait. How did we go from "I love you, Misty. And I will crawl for you, beg you---I’ll do anything just to make you mine again" to Oh, okay, well if that's what you want, I'll totally grant you your "cutting of the ties thing" which basically ensures we will never see each other again ??? Sigh. I was hoping this book would improve the lack of logic from the first one, but it appears that's not happening.
