Put this on hold 1 year+ ago but going to pick up again ahead of this year’s trans day of visibility

hm these all seem pretty similar but i'm not mad at it

If I had one criticism of A Safe Girl to Love, it'd be how samey everything feels. Which isn't inherently bad, but it does feel like Plett only writes along one story along a little spectrum. I do like that story, how it's written, what it means, but I guess I just expected greater variety

Portland Oregon seemed the most unique when compared to the rest of these stories.

I can't fully place the feeling this bit made me feel but it was stressful, like some kinda repetitive scratching. It felt cyclical and bleak. It ended on a kind of upturn, but I wouldn't call it a happy ending or anything
