“Since when do the Powers That Be dump an autistic kid into an Ordeal?” This part of the series should be marked, Here Be Dated. But I guess the public conversation about autism, and what people Kit’s age would know about it, has changed a lot since 2002.

"Son, is there *really* a cooking channel, uh, 'about' us?" "Pop, there's lots of them." "But how is something like that *permitted*?!" "You go where you shouldn't go, you find out stuff you shouldn't find out." OMG. [laughing]

Am also really glad I took that break (dang, 22 books?!) between "The Wizard's Dilemma" and "A Wizard Alone."

Very much enjoyed the opening to this book, with Kit settling a dispute between the TV, the remote, and the new DVD player.
