Can understand other reviewers frustration with this book, seeming as it does from time to time, to be merely a collection of lengthy quotes with little additional context. I know it is a short book, by an author who, from what I can glean, is not as professional academic, but it does feel frustratingly lacking in places

Reading this for my History Book Group who have picked women’s suffrage as this month’s topic. I knew I wouldn’t have much time this month with other reading commitments, but so far this has been a reasonable overview, starting with Emily Davison’s death at the Derby in 1913, then going back & following the struggle chronologically
