The theme is that human intelligence is more complicated than early researchers and institutional users of tests imagined. The use of intelligence testing for pigeon-holing people -- student placement, hiring evaluation, etc. -- is misleading and harmful. Evaluating people takes a lot more work than a simple test.

Dr. Kaufman’s story has already caused me to reflect on howI work with my students. A truly remarkable read so far!

An interesting read from the perspective of a scholar who grew up in special education. Enlightening so far.
