Status Updates From Country Hardball

This one is cutting a little closer than the last few mysteries. The setting is the noir child of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Winchester, Virginia as I remember them from 20 years ago. I know these people.

Short novel told in very distinct, short-story format. Maybe there's a name for this writing device, but Im a total ignoramus. Lovely writing & gritty scenes, but I cannot keep track of the characters very well. Its still early..
