Argues for the importance of polemical theology when interpreting the OT. A great reminder to seek to understand context and ask “why might the author be saying this?” rather than coming to the text with your own presuppositions. The Bible defends itself time and time again.

Archaeological study of Egypt did not begin until Napoleon invaded Egypt in 1798, bringing with him architects and scholars.
“When Napoleon’s army gathered at the base of the pyramids to engage the Mameluke army in battle (July 21, 1798), Napoleon said to his troops, ‘Soldiers! From atop these pyramids, fifty centuries look down upon you!’” (p. 13)
