This books begins with scientific theories and then moves into anecdotal examples, but as the author states, we cannot study consciousness directly, only its expressions and qualities. Any true scientific inquiry of consciousness would require us to step outside of consciousness to examine it, which is impossible.
This book has been interesting, clear in its presented ideas, and true to its intent.
