Status Updates From Relish: My Life in the Kitchen

Every chapter is just “I went on a trip to a foreign country. I ate a lot of weird food. I like all kinds of food haha” and then the most average recipe you’ve ever seen. I don’t understand the point of this book. It’s like an illustrated food blog.

I hope this picks up soon. Because right now there’s absolutely no conflict so it reads like a bedtime story for toddlers

The problem I have with this book is unfortunately this author’s privilege and she’s saying that she’s poor but yet the experiences she has or things that a lot of people don’t get to experience even if they are struggling
And then the part about McDonald’s kind of made me a little bit uncomfortable as well
But I’m loving her take on food and everything else
