This was so good but reading it's a struggle for me now--the writer killed off a character I really liked! I can't stand when writers do that: don't spend long narrative time with someone from the person's perspective then off the person. I feel like someone I know died--IOW I feel like shit! I don't want to be depressed during Star Trek--or just about any fiction, actually. Real life mortality's depressing enough.
