Status Updates From Lay Your Body Down

2.5 This book was a tricky one to get into and finish, but something about it kept me reading. I think the character development for me was lacking, l couldn’t find myself as invested in the main character and there were certain aspects that felt like they were rushed through. It was an interesting read but l had sort of also guessed the ending and resolve quarter way through.

“The way we were taught, everything that happens is part of gods plan, so if you die, it’s because he ‘chose to call you home’ for some reason. When I was a teenager, I asked one of the youth leaders if that meant god was using serial killers and mass shooters, and I got sent home for being impertinent”
