Status Updates From Table for Two: Fictions

Mixed feelings on this one. All the elements I loved in the former stories are still there, but this one just seemed to lack the charm of the others. That might just be my life interfering while I read though, and me being unable to really appreciate it. Anyway, looks like I’m done with the short stories and on to the novella!

I Will Survive: “But as I watched John…I understood that Peggy had every reason to feel betrayed. Because when she looked…at the figure of her husband on his secret outing, what she saw was an image of adulterer joy. A joy that not only existed in her absence, but seemed to require it.”

Hasta Luego: “…what I found myself hoping, what I found myself almost praying for, was that despite all my flaws, when the time came, as it surely would, my wife would be willing to fight for me as hard as Jennifer had fought for her husband.”

Wow - I forgot just how talented Amor Towles is at crafting a sentence. Beautiful imagery.
