‘The Story of a Disappearance and an Appearance’

feels more up for interpretation, the more restrained of these shorts Ive read so far — all the terror saved for the final pages, superbly effective for it in accelerating the morbid intrigue already building from the start just to end as it does and let that feeling continue, linger on after.

love the ‘only the tip of the iceberg’ feel these tales possess
