I go from loving these stories to thinking I’m just not smart enough to follow the political intrigue. Then I realise maybe I just don’t care about people manoeuvring to dominate each other. Stop it people it just triggers confusion and more bullshit. Going to keep going as they have something going on, but I’m starting to wonder if Leckie is just obsessed with interpersonal politics.

I was finding this a bit meh, but I’m into it now. Well written short stories that do enough to explore an idea without me wanting more or less. I love the wee holiday in the different worlds. Bit like the Magic Faraway Tree but for adults who get that life is pretty grey and never resolves nearly.
