Interesting critique of postmodernism in the introduction. Discusses the similarities between the postmodern view of humans as ‘desiring-machines’ (à la Deleuze-Guattari) and how this belief comfortably conforms with consumer capitalist ideology.

Reading gets interesting as it enters Marxism discussion. I find the discussion by Hawkes on it was intriguing especially when it touches on value (which as Hawkes noted, mediates between subject and object) of money.

I started to enter the harder level of reading now. This third chapter requires me to slow down a bit to digest. Idealism not only concern with idea-matter, but within them too.

I couldnt say much yet because I just begin to read it. But I find it helps me to connect some of my questions concerning capitalism and metaphysics. I should venture deeper.
