Status Updates From The Montauk Monster

Almost done…not sure if anyone survives at this point….

Okay, at this point we almost…almost have a Joe Ledger style of story without the clever jokes and witty repartee. I miss that! Shea goes all out filling pages with people who dissolve in gore but less on the support mechanisms to make it entertaining. He’s redeeming the book here toward the end.

Best character in this book is Can Man.
He’s the only one with a grain of common sense.🤣

As far as I can tell, nearly all the local cops are dead, but our intrepid hero tells our super-smart heroine that he’s going to get their “people” and then collects weapons from all over the ground for the work to be done.

Who? Who is left???!!!!

Too many names to track. And all of them dying.
If you like sheer gore without knowing who is being killed, this is the book.

And so The Housewives show finally ends.
Thought it ended previously but had to be dragged to its strange ending.

Too many doctors, officers…a swamp of names and titles. Getting harder to keep them all straight.
Glad to see the useless “housewives” reference was eaten.

Didn’t require a shower sex scene, between main or side characters. It came in fast, abrupt, was not effective, and ended with cutesy banter. I guess it was supposed to be a “stress reliever” for the characters but it came off as nudey comic book.

Little tawdry short stuck at the end of the last chapter I read. Unnecessary. Unfortunately for Hunter Shea, probably drops him to a 4⭐️ from this point forward. Garbage mini-spots are throw-away words.

And there it is!
DARPA babysitting CDC …controlling the situation while our hero’s sneak into the gov facility.
Trust me. I’m not giving anything away here.
Minutes into this book you know where it’s headed.
But you keep on reading, chewing those nails.
Nothing surprises. You’re reading for the sheer fun of it🤣

This book ranks right up there with Maberry’s Joe Ledger flair with its gruesome science chaos but without the huge clean-it-up brawn and tech team. Gov screws up and the locals have to figure it out. Much closer to what we’d really expect from ourselves.

She doesn’t doesn’t know what they are but she thinks she knows where they come from!!!
So do I!!!!

Saw where Jonathon Maberry gave this author a 👍 so had to check it out. Summer’s all about finding new ways to chew up the hot days! Two folks already chewed up and looking good for more!
