Why is she acting this way? Why doesn't she just focus on basketball?

It is a horrible thing to imagine that someone would get that badly hurt during a basketball game and it is just horrible to read about. I know it is just a book but this stuff happens in real life and is scary, coming from someone who know that basketball is a really physical sport.

These two had better work their shit out before I get upset again.

Innocuous conversation happening between two people, but it's obviously cracked something in me because I'm bawling my eyes out. It's like therapy in a book. Or it's triggering me. I haven't figured out which.

Soul-bearing moment: you might think your first reaction would be disbelief when faced with a truthbomb like this, but...from experience...you'd be amazed how easy it is to believe, to finally be confronted with what a part of you has suspected for along time. This was me just over a year ago.

Certain truths were just revealed and it's a little too close to my life to keep reading tonight, so I'm going to take a break and maybe keep reading tomorrow.

That being said, the details of how she gets into the right mindset for a game really add a special something to the book. I can believe completely that basketball is important to her.

She keeps referring to the Thunder as if they're a celebrity that I should know, but I have noooo idea.

Jake's moves are even working on me.

Note to book characters. Don't say/think sentences like "I'd own this douchebag if it was the last game I ever played." You are just asking for trouble.
