I am not sure how I made it this far. The book is a monologue by the narrator/main character. It is also fairly monotone - gloom, followed by more gloom, followed by deeper gloom, followed by -wait, is that a glimpse of happy - no, just a false tidbit to provide backdrop for yet more gloom. Really, I don't know why I keep reading this book. It's slogging through mud.

This one is really hard to put down. The use of the first person is a clever device which helps soften some pretty tough topics.
