Interesting that the introduction is written by prominent anti-communist Sidney Hook. He's intelligent, well-spoken, and centers humanity, but I do think it's worth noting that several of Trotsky's predictions which he criticizes have in fact come to pass (I would argue) - increasing misery, an explosion of American colonialism, and the practical disappearance of the middle class chief among them.
