Status Updates From The Well of Loneliness

Depressing ass book, but this is on me for thinking that a book titled “The Well of Loneliness” would be anything but depressing. Sigh. I find the relationship between Stephan and her parents to be so interesting and heart wrenching simultaneously. I wonder if her mom would’ve been more loving if the setting was today where societal pressure wouldn’t influence her. Poor dear Stephan, you were born too early

Started rereading this thinking it would be a quick reread that would placate my general apathy toward many modern lesbian novels….. Forgot this book is almost 500 pages long lol

So far, so good.

You know I lowkey didn’t realize that it would this slow, not that it is. I assumed that she had aged up, but she’s only 8. Makes it all the more sadder. The disconnect between Stephan and her mom truly breaks my heary
