Status Updates From Wonderland

I'm bawling

"Come here," Preston opened his arms, inviting me in. He held me for quite a long time. It felt good, and I knew I was never going to have enough time with him.

"Yes, you're sick, but I'm not going anywhere," he said, cupping my face with his hands. "I don't want to see your brown eyes sad for me. I know what I'm doing."
God knew how much I loved Preston at that moment. I had butterflies in my stomach and love running through my veins. I leaned in and kissed his lips with all the passion and care I owned. He was my everything - my guardian angel.

I began to feel my exhaustion creep over me. My eyes were heavy, my legs were tired, and I was struggling to breathe. After our lunch, I headed home for a nap. It had been a long day, and it was time for me to relax.

We held hands during the ride to the restaurant. His touch gave me strength. I wasn't asking for much; this was enough for me, and it seemed to be enough for him, too.

"I can still see you behind your tired eyes, Lucas. You're so strong and amazing. Each and every time I see you, you find a way to impress me and show me the value of life."
